The Inspiration for Nessie’s Nemesis!

The Inspiration for Nessie’s Nemesis!

There are two weeks left on the Nessie’s Nemesis Kickstarter, so if you’re interested, please take a look!

If you’re wondering why the sequel to Sherlock’s Secretary is set at Loch Ness, it’s because, as with the first novel, I wanted the plot to be inspired by true events connected to Sherlock Holmes.  The previous book was drawn from the real-life bank at 221B Baker Street and the BBC’s Great Erasure.  Nessie’s Nemesis refers to the making of Billy Wilder’s The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes, which involved a gigantic Loch Ness Monster prop.  I teased this plotline in the final chapter of Sherlock’s Secretary.  I knew I wanted the closing to foreshadow the next book, but I couldn’t find anything suitable… until I watched this YouTube video from Yesterworld Entertainment

Check it out!

Chris Chan’s novel Ghosting My Friend was released by Level Best Books on March 28th.
